Bruce Engel

After Graduating from Cornell University in 2001 with a Professional Degree in Architecture, Bruce went on to work at small firms in New York designing contemporary single-family homes. In 2003 he co-founded his design firm “SAND_BOX” that received recognition for a range of projects including residential homes, museum exhibitions, graphic design, art installations, commercial projects, and furniture design.

In 2009 he joined Sharon Davis Design to work on the Kosovo Women’s Opportunity Center and as Project Manager of the award winning Women’s Opportunity Center in Rwanda, where he has been living and running the Rwanda based branch of the office since 2010. He is currently managing the construction of hospital staff housing, and design development of affordable housing in rural Rwanda, while also lecturing at the University of Rwanda.
